About FaceShapeFinder.pro

FaceShapeFinder.pro is a small, independent website with free tools for finding your face shape: a photo-based face shape detector, a face shape calculator for tape-measure numbers, and a guide for each of the seven face shapes. It is built for anyone choosing a haircut, a pair of glasses or a beard style who wants a clear answer, and the reasons behind it, rather than a guess.

Why FaceShapeFinder.pro exists

Most face shape quizzes ask you to look in the mirror and pick a picture. That is hard, because nobody sees their own face neutrally. Most face shape apps go the other way: they give you a single label and no explanation, and they often upload your photo to a server to do it. We wanted something in between: a tool that measures your face the way a stylist would, shows you exactly what it measured, tells you how confident it is, and never takes your photo off your device.

How the face shape detector works

The detector uses two small machine-learning models that run in your browser. Google’s MediaPipe Face Landmarker places 478 points on your face. A hair segmentation model separates hair from skin so we can find your hairline, which the landmark model does not reach. From those points the detector measures forehead width, cheekbone width, jaw width, face length and the sharpness of the jaw corner, in a frame aligned with your face so a small head tilt does not distort the numbers.

The shape itself comes from a simple, transparent model fitted on thousands of photos labelled with a face shape, combined with measurement rules for the diamond and triangle shapes. The result is a percentage for each of the seven shapes, not just one name. The same photo always gives the same result.

How reliable is it?

The measurements are consistent, but face shape names are not exact science. Stylists disagree on borderline faces, and many people genuinely sit between two shapes. We show the confidence for every shape and the measurements behind the result so you can judge for yourself, and we warn you when a photo is likely to give a poor reading (head turned, mouth open, hair over the forehead, poor light). For the most reliable result, use a straight-on photo with your hair pulled back.

Where the style advice comes from

The haircut, glasses, beard and makeup suggestions follow long-standing styling principles: add length where a face is short, add width where it is narrow, and balance strong angles with softer lines (and the reverse). They are suggestions, not rules. Hair texture, personal style and what you like about your face matter at least as much as its outline.

What we do not do

How FaceShapeFinder.pro is funded

The tools are free and will stay free. The site may show a small number of ads to pay for hosting and development. Ads never use your photo or your result, because neither ever leaves your browser.

Privacy

All face analysis runs on your device. See the Privacy Policy for details, including the services that host the site and load its fonts, and the Terms of Use for how the tools may be used.
